Who We Are
The SASgroup was created to help small business owners solve the “profit-rich, cash-poor” dilemma.
The typical “trusted advisor” that business owners lean on—Accountant, CPA, Bookkeeper, Banker—primarily focus on the income statement and balance sheet, though extremely important, these statements fail to address the life blood of any business: cash flow. The SASgroup is here to “flip the script” and help small business owners learn to drive cash flow.
Scott Schumann, CPCP, principal of SASgroup, brings more than two decades of diversified experience spanning commercial banking, entrepreneurial ventures, financial analysis, and portfolio management.
Scott recently earned his Clear Path to Cash Professional (CPCP) certification/designation. This program focuses on techniques and processes that drive cash flow generation in various businesses.
Most recently, Scott served as Senior Portfolio Manager at Pathway Lending, where he partnered closely with the Business Advisory Services group to strengthen credit clients’ financial performance. His earlier entrepreneurial roles include co-founding multiple Nashville-based start-ups—Tipping Futures, Royal Circus, and LifeLinks—where Scott contributed to business planning, financial modeling, operations, investor relations, and implementation of the EOS system. In each venture, Scott applied a hands-on leadership style, guiding organizations through early-stage growth, seed rounds, and strategic initiatives.
Scott complements this background with strong analytical and consultancy skills, including business model development, market strategies, and financial forecasting. Scott’s leadership extends into community involvement as a long-time board member and treasurer for nonprofit and civic organizations. Academically, Scott holds an MBA from Loyola University, a B.B.A. from Saint Joseph’s College (cum laude), and has completed significant accounting coursework at Lipscomb University.
